BEAUTIFUL ROVINJ

Rovinj is a beautiful little town, the pearl of the Istrian peninsula, with a rich history and enchanting present. The Old city, a protected historical part, is the most wondrous and the most interesting part of Rovinj. It was established sometime between 3rd and 5th century AD. A visit to the Old city is a unique experience, with its numerous Romanesque-Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neo-classicist windows, balconies, galleries, roof terraces, portals and stone steps. While walking along the narrows streets and squares, you will be fascinated by the beauty of tall houses packed tightly together, supporting one another on the hill underneath St. Euphemia’s Basilica, which used to be protected by early medieval and Renaissance city walls, partially preserved to this day.
